If I turn my backyard into a farm will I be hassled monthly by the Palo Alto Utilities that I am a water hog?

Even when there were water restrictions in place growing food was exempt. Decorative landscaping was the target. If CPAU doesn't know you are growing food, then you might get nagged about your use. On the other hand, with a drip irrigation system you can grow a lot of food with less water than that required to maintain a lawn.
