With the new bike lanes coming and no street parking, thank heavens we won't have to worry about access to businesses so we can just terminate the contracts of all our retail consultants because "you can't get there from here."

All these shuttered businesses and empty lots should thrill Mr. Berman and Mr. Becker as they push for communities to identify more housing sites because that's all they'll have on El Camino -- that and lots of green paint for the bike lanes.

The cities aren’t removing existing parking, just street parking. Arguably already dangerous to exit a parked car on a street like ECR. This should be a welcome improvement!

It may also be helpful to think about the business patrons as people on foot or on bike too :) I think that we all have the same goals of wanting a safe road to travel on and thriving businesses. We can achieve both with current parking infrastructure, improved business practices, and people on bike or on foot feeling safe reaching these businesses!
