Frances Dias, Palo Alto's first female mayor, dies at 100

Frances Dias, who served as Palo Alto's first female mayor during one the city's most politically turbulent periods, died on Nov. 9, according to her family. She was 100.

What fascinating bit of history. I was a year old and living on the opposite coast in 1966, so I hope I can be forgiven if I never heard of Frances Dias until today. She was truly a pioneer.
