Mental Health issues are becoming more and more noticeable. Is anyone looking into why?
This incident appears to mirror a very similar one in the East Bay about a week ago and that one lasted several days.
Modern life seems to be causing some people extreme mental issues. Even before the pandemic lockdowns people seemed to be suffering and the causes can be triggered by loneliness, relationship issues, financial problems and almost any other cause. The lockdowns of course made things even worse.
What is causing this increase in depression and breakdown? What can be done to prevent it long in advance of any serious incident such as the above?

For all those police officers who drew their guns and flagged (muzzle temporarily pointed at) someone, remember to fill out your report on it as required by the Palo Alto Police Manual.

@Bystander,
I believe that it's just that police are identifying and dealing with the mental health issues, as opposed to ignoring them and treating the situations as just "unlawful", and then using brute force to resolve them as quickly as possible.
This is a good thing, and shows we're progressing as a society.

Thank you to the Palo Alto Police officers who resolved this incident peacefully.
