Well deserved by Simitian.
Quality recognizes quality, and no candidate has it like Joe.

Joe is a nice guy but what we need in Congress today are not clones of what we have in California today representing us at the federal level.

The new representative should have years of private industry experience in bringing products to market as this is a monumental task inside any company encompassing engineering, marketing, finance, accounting, legal, leadership & motivation of staff.

We need people with solid private sector credentials in getting things done. What we are doing in California the last two decades is not working. Time to change things up.

Great choice. 30 years of working with someone tells you a lot about their values, commitment, expertise, experience, savvy, values, work ethic, ability to get things done and character.

Experience matters.

I can't imagine voting for anyone who doesn't have the courage to call Israel's attack on Gaza a genocide and to demand an immediate, permanent ceasefire. Our nation has struggled for hundreds of years to overcome our racist past and here we are in 2024 sending billions of our taxpayer dollars and providing state of the art weaponry to enable a genocide by a thoroughly racist regime and pretending that Israel's individual and institutional supporters here in our country are not racist in this regard.

Former head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency Tamir Pardo, former attorney general Michael Ben-Yair, former speaker of the Israeli Parliament Avraham Burg, Israeli historian Benny Morris, Israel peace group B’Tselem, the late South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Jewish Voice for Peace, former US President Jimmy Carter and many other prominent organizations and individuals have declared Israel to be an apartheid regime.

Former head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency Tamir Pardo declared “There is an Apartheid state here. In a territory where two people are judged under two legal systems, that is an Apartheid state.” Former attorney general Michael Ben-Yair said in 2022 “my country has sunk to such political and moral depths that it is now an apartheid regime.”

After every mass shooting in America we hear the Republicans lament, offering their "thoughts and prayers" for the victims while they vote down even the mildest gun control bills. Biden, Blinken, Eshoo and the entire Democratic establishment is doing the same thing with Gaza, urging Israel to "limit civilian casualties" and then sending them billions of dollars and more bombs, knowing full well that Netanyahu will, as he has for decades, give us the finger and go on slaughering Gazans until the entire territory is unihabitable. Our nation is soaked in the blood of the Palestinian people.

Endorsing a 70-year-old candidate is more evidence Democrats believe they have no hope of gaining a majority in the House for many years to come and see the seat as little more than a reward for years of faithful service. How sad.

To the extent that who we send to Congress has a broader impact, electing a capable, experienced problem solver with sound values is the sort of message that the Democratic party needs to send to the broader electorate. More radical Democrats aligned with AOC and “the squad” is just the sort of message that makes swing voters support MAGA candidates elsewhere.

This 84 year-old thinks that the most unsurprising news item of the last ten years is "Eshoo endorses Simitian." Joe has been piling up the donations for that long and yearning for the retirement of Eshoo, and now, when he would be just weeks from his 72nd birthday when the next Congress meets, he finally has the chance to replace Eshoo. You waited too long, Joe. I think we need some fresher, newer ideas than a man who has been a politician longer than many of the voters in the 16th Congressional District have been alive. Democrats must stop selecting elderly candidates or run the risk of losing a generation of younger voters. Can Dems remember the vigor and excitement we felt when we elected JFK at 43 or Obama at 47? France is considering making 70 the ceiling for political office and Germany has already done the same thing at age 75. I hope the voters of the 16th District send a message to the Democratic leadership to GET YOUNGER.

Joe is the only candidate who can hit the ground running and knows how to get things done in the legislative arena. Other candidates will take a year or two to get up to speed as being effective at the legislative level requires applicable knowledge and experience, as well as the wide contacts, to be effective and get things done. Experience best gained at the State level. No matter how successful at the local level or credentials in the private sector.

Hey all of you D's - look at the "younger" reps from SF the city who are tearing this state apart. The Weiner is a destruction tool. And the rep from San Jose is trying to push the "Wealth Tax". He is the youngest member of the CA legislature. All of the current reps see you the tax=paying resident who is a home-owner as a grape on the grape vine who needs to be plucked. So tired of all of the "great ideas" that appear non-stop in the papers of all of those who are "protecting Democracy" by fleecing the homeowner. That is all you know how to do.

Joe has been around the block and knows how to avert all of the unintended consequences that are ruining this state and country.
