Does homelessness really have to be an ever-worsening problem? Cities that are awarded the Olympics somehow manage to quickly house thousands of athletes and staff. Cities, like San Francisco, that host meetings like APEC somehow manage to "clean up the streets" for sake of appearance. Clearly, where there's a will there's a way. I cannot reference data points, but I am willing to bet that the all-in societal cost of not providing shelter is far higher than the cost of providing it. One savings that might motivate: fewer costly lawsuits.
All the candidates seeking to replace Eshoo should weigh in on this - with specifics, not platitudes. Ditto those running for Assembly.

Something has to be done about the homeless problem in California. It will only get worse.
